Scott
Newman brings over 18 years of high tech manufacturing experience
from companies such as Intel, Laughlin-Wilt Group, and Viasystems.
At Intel,
he was responsible for installations, preventive maintenance,
calibrations, troubleshooting, and developing performance
modifications on automated circuit board assembly and test
equipment in Hillsboro, Puerto Rico, and Singapore. He
also participated in the initial installation of ESD protection
for Intel systems manufacturing.
Scott
was one the five founding team members of Laughlin-Wilt Group,
a successful and high growth contract electronics manufacturing
company that started in Beaverton, Oregon and grew to a $100
million multi-state operation before being acquired by Viasystems
in 2000. At Laughlin-Wilt Group, he planned initial business
strategies, start-up, and expansions
and served as Process Engineer, Information Technology Manager,
and Facilities Manager. He was instrumental in developing
many processes and systems that allowed the company revenue
to double almost every year for several years.
He has
recently received one and applied for two additional patents in the area of ESD for devices
that reduce costs and improve the quality of ESD compliance.
Scott
holds an A.S. in Electronics Technology from Linn-Benton Community
College in Albany, Oregon and a B.S. in Economics from Portland
State University.
